Well, I slept for about thirteen hours, and my head feels clearer, plus I’m less annoyed, but I couldn’t escape the flare (I didn’t really expect to, though, as it had that flu-ish feel when it was coming on and I just can’t outwit that kind). So it’s a down day in bed with Netflix. No pills though, because it’s more of a medium flare, so I will be toughing it out until nighttime, when I’ll take something so I can sleep. I have always burned through meds really quickly, all the way back to my childhood, and I get immune to them over just months and weeks, so I have always been cautious about only taking them when absolutely necessary. Sometimes we have thoughts that make us feel uncomfortable/happy/sad/fearful/etc. This emotional experience doesn’t equal thoughts being meaningful. Thoughts are neither good nor bad. Thoughts don’t serve as “proof” of anyone’s goodness/badness/worth/value/etc. All a thought is is proof that your brain is working. Thanks, brain! (You can say that sarcastically if you want 😉) . . Thoughts are not fact and do not deserve to be treated as such. How much of your own advice do you take? When it comes to my daily scroll, I see so many motivational quotes and great advice floating around. So many. How much of that well intentioned advice do we apply to ourselves? Personally, I suck at taking my own advice. But, in the past few months, I’ve gained a lot of knowledge on how to actually apply lessons learned vs learning more. And it helps me catch myself in moments where I get back into my usual bad habits - 1. Scrolling social media constantly. 2. Keeping constant check on what others in my field are doing. 3. Listening to so-called experts’ advice and never implementing. 4. Buying into something a marketing expert has told me I need in my life to be successful. The day I started to watch my bad habits like a hawk, a lot of who I am changed. I realized that if I allow it, it’s very easy for me to focus on everyone else relative to myself. It’s very easy for me to come to the conclusion that there’s something more outside of me that I need. Stop for a second and think about the last piece of advice you gave out. Do you practice what you preach? And if you don’t, that’s all you need to focus on. Everything else can wait. What’s a piece of advice you’ve given that you wish you’d apply more to your life?

I was giving advice to a girlfriend the other day and these words spontaneously came out of my mouth..."Babe, this could mean anything or nothing" 💕 I stopped and thought, "Damn Chels, what a great message to tell your mind when it it is tempted to go into over-drive! What a great mantra for anxious minds, worriers, catastrophic thinkers and over-analyzers!" 💓 The meaning we put towards something might be correct, but it also might be completely wrong. Therefor, putting all of our precious energy into trying to figure it out is useless. 💞 Meaning will come with time in hindsight. Or... it may not come come at all, but by then the thought will be old news anyways. 💘 Let go of the attachment to knowing exactly what everything means, and accept that whatever comes out of this thing is meant to be.💖 .
